Where: Water Works Park & West River Parkway, Downtown Minneapolis
The crown jewel of Minneapolis Independence Day celebrations is back on the riverfront! Start your morning with a holiday 5K or 2K walk, enjoy live music and local food trucks throughout the afternoon, and stay for the iconic fireworks display over the Mississippi River at 10:00 PM.
When: Friday, July 3 (4:00 PM – 10:00 PM) & Saturday, July 4 (Noon – 10:00 PM)
Where: Nicollet Mall & Washington Avenue, Minneapolis
Sample the absolute best of our local culinary scene at the Taste of Minnesota. This free-admission festival features over 100 local restaurants, food trucks, breweries, and artists. Even better? The all-local music lineup features fantastic Minnesota-bred talent including Poliça, Dessa, Bad Bad Hats, and Brother Ali.
When: Saturday, July 4, 2026 | Food trucks at 6:00 PM, Fireworks at Dusk
Where: Cathedral Hill Park, 215 Summit Ave, St. Paul
St. Paul is lighting up the sky from its highest point to mark America's 250th! Head to Cathedral Hill Park, grab a bite from the food trucks lining Dayton Avenue, and enjoy a free live concert starting at 7:30 PM. Bring a blanket to picnic on the lawn and enjoy an unobstructed view of the capital city's spectacular fireworks.
When: Tuesday, June 30 – Sunday, July 5, 2026 (Holiday features run July 2–4)
Where: CHS Field, Lowertown St. Paul
Cheer on the St. Paul Saints as they take on the Buffalo Bisons during America's birth week. The games from July 2nd through July 4th feature an incredible all-you-can-eat Independence Day BBQ, a Monster Food Truck Rally, and post-game fireworks right over the ballpark. It is the ultimate combination of summer baseball and holiday fun.

Where: 50th & France Area, Edina
If you love a classic community parade, Edina delivers one of the finest in the metro area. Marching bands, community floats, horses, and local performance groups travel west down 50th Street starting behind City Hall. Later that evening at 10:00 PM, you can catch their community fireworks display over at Rosland Park.
When: Friday, July 3, 2026 | 5:00 PM – 10:30 PM
Where: Normandale Lake Park, Bloomington
Kick off the holiday weekend a day early at Bloomington's massive Summer Fete.
When: Saturday, July 4, 2026 | All Day (Parade at 11:00 AM)
Where: Langford Park, St. Paul
For a historic, small-town feel right in the city, head to the St. Anthony Park neighborhood. This event hosts one of the longest-running 4th of July parades in Minnesota. After the morning parade, stick around Langford Park for a distance race, volleyball and pickleball tournaments, and live music at the bandstand from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM.

Where: Eagan Community Center, 1501 Central Parkway, Eagan
Eagan’s annual 3-day festival hits its peak over the weekend. Bring the family out for a classic carnival featuring classic rides, games, and traditional fair food. The big parade kicks off Saturday at 10:00 AM along Yankee Doodle Road, and the entire festival wraps up with a massive fireworks finale at 10:00 PM on the 4th.

Where: Historic Fort Snelling, St. Paul
Take a step back in time to explore the complex history of the Western expansion and the origins of the holiday. Enjoy historical demonstrations, patriotic speeches, and live performances by the fife and drum corps. It is an engaging, educational, and deeply meaningful way to spend the afternoon with family.

Where: Lake Minnetonka Area / Lake Minnewashta
Nothing says summer in Minnesota quite like being by the lake. On July 3rd, Shorewood hosts its popular fireworks display over Lake Minnewashta at 10:00 PM.
