Embracing Hope: Cari Ann Carter Group's Fundraising Journey for SUDC Foundation's Community Retreat

As December unfolds, the Cari Ann Carter Group is eager to express our commitment to making a positive impact this month. We're thrilled to announce our active fundraising efforts, with a special emphasis on supporting the SUDC Foundation's Community Retreat scheduled for September 26-29, 2024, in Branson, MO.

The Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC) Foundation serves as a beacon of hope and support for families navigating the unimaginable loss of a child. The upcoming Community Retreat offers a unique opportunity for registered SUDC Foundation members to come together, fostering connections and offering vital support for their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

This year's retreat is tailored for healing, growth, and solidarity, featuring educational workshops, a parent panel, a professional grief speaker, and family-friendly outdoor events. Every moment is crafted to help families move forward after the loss of a child.

We are particularly honored to collaborate with the Vivienne's Joy Foundation, created in memory of their beloved daughter, Vivienne, who suddenly passed away seven years ago. Cari Ann Carter has known the Burgess family for a while now and is dedicated to giving back to the foundation. On November 12, 2016, the Burgess's lives changed forever after celebrating Vivienne's 3rd birthday. Wade Burgess put her to bed like every other night, only to find her unresponsive later. Despite efforts to resuscitate Vivie, her cause of death remains unknown, deemed Sudden Unexplained Death in Childhood (SUDC). As the family navigates this new world with Ellie, they are determined to find meaning and ensure they help others in Vivie's memory through the Vivienne's Joy Foundation.

Along with our fundraising efforts, the Cari Ann Carter Group will match donations up to $1,500 to contribute to the SUDC Foundation's vital mission. Notably, Vivienne's Joy Foundation generously covers the cost of all meals and activities at the retreat, lightening the financial load for attendees.

We believe this collaboration aligns seamlessly with our values, and we can't think of a better foundation to support this month. Join us in making a difference! Your contribution, no matter the size, will directly impact families attending the retreat and provide them with the support they need during this challenging time.
